Dr. S Seetha is a renowned space Scientist from ISRO with immense contributions in the field of Space Astronomy, particularly in the study of variable stars in X-ray and Optical bands. She has made excellent contributions towards the development of Space Science Instrumentation, specifically with respect to the X-ray and Gamma ray experiments flown on ISRO satellites. She has played a vital role in ISRO’s Mars Orbiter Mission and has been the Principal Investigator for Astrosat, India’s first Space Astronomy Observatory. She is presently actively involved in the upcoming Chandrayaan 2 mission to Moon and Aditya mission to L1 for solar studies.
