Yosuke Asai is Director of Space Industry Office at the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) based in Tokyo.  Mr. Asai is in charge of promoting Japanese space industry by encouraging collaborations in research and development, human capital development, and development of business environment related to space.

After Mr. Asai started his career with METI in 1998, he was engaged in various sections such as space industry, electronics industry, export control and economic cooperation.  He worked for two years in the Ministry of Defense as the Director for Defense Cooperation and Exchanges at the Ministry of Defense on secondment (2014-2016).

Mr. Asai graduated with Master of Public Administration / International Relations from Syracuse University, USA in 2003 and achieved Master of Engineering in University of Tokyo, Japan in 1998.
