Ms. Kanae Kurata is in charge of Japanese space activities including space exploration, the International Space Station (ISS), and international cooperation in space in general. She joined MEXT in 2002. Her previous postings include Deputy Director of Research and Development Policy Division, Research and Development Bureau of MEXT and First Secretary for Science and Technology at the Embassy of Japan in the United Kingdom.
