Prof. Dr. Thomas Djamaluddin is the Chairman of the National Institute of Aeronautics and Space. He served as the Director of Climate and Atmospheric Science Applications Center of LAPAN from 2007 to 2010. In 2011, he was assigned as the Deputy Chairman for Space Science Affairs of LAPAN until in the early February 2014, then appointed as the Chairman of LAPAN up to now. He achieved a Master and a Ph.D. degrees in Astronomy from the Kyoto University and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Astronomy from the Bandung Institute of Technology. He was awarded a Research Professor in Astronomy-Astrophysics in 2009.
