Neevy Van Laningham has been with the State Department over 28 years and covers a broad space portfolio of diplomatic efforts focused on bilateral and multilateral civil space policy cooperation in the Asia-Pacific region. In this role, she headed the Bureau’s efforts to develop new bilateral space dialogues with Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, the Philippines, the Republic of Korea, Thailand, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, and the Africa region as well as expanded cooperation in multilateral bodies such as the Asia Pacific Regional Space Agency Forum, ASEAN, and Asia Conference on Remote Sensing.

Previously Neevy was the Peace Corps cultural and diversity training officer after completing her service in West Africa. She completed MA in Cultural Anthropology and B.A. in Political Science/International Relations. Neevy’s previous State Department postings included China, Thailand, and Cambodia.
