Dr. MUKAI Chiaki is Japan’s first female astronaut, and currently JAXA Senior Advisor and Vice President of the Tokyo University of Science.
Dr. MUKAI appointed as Chair of the Scientific and Technical Subcommittee of the UN Committee on the Peaceful Uses for Outer Space, which addresses the global community's attempts to reduce space debris, to realize the long-term sustainability of outer space activities and the SDGs, Sustainable Development Goals.
