Professor TONG Xudong, director of China Earth Observation system and Data center. He graduated from Nanjing Aeronautic Institute, China in 1985 with the bachelor degree of Engineering, and Beijing Institute of Space Machinery and Electronics (BISME), China in 1988 with the master degree of Engineering.
He has been working in the field of China aerospace since 1988, and engages in the development of recovery system of space vehicle and remote sensing technology. He was director of BISME from 2000, and vice president of China academy of Space Technology (CAST) from 2003. He worked in APT group in Hong Kong from 2004 as executive director and vice president. He was the director of office of manned space engineering, China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC) from 2009 and was appointed as the director of Earth Observation System and Data Center in 2014.
