Dao-Ngoc Chien received Diploma of Engineer from School of Electronics and Telecommunication (SET), Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST) of Viet Nam, in 1997; Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy in Engineering degree in 2002 and 2005, respectively from the Department of Electronics and Computer Engineering, Gifu University of Japan. From 2005 to 2011, he served as Senior Lecturer at SET, HUST and has been appointed to Associate Professor since Nov. 2010. From Nov. 2011 to Apr. 2022, he served as Deputy Director-General of the Department of High Technologies of Viet Nam Ministry of Science and Technology, of which his main role was national management on research and development activities in the areas of ICT, space technology, smart city and public security. From May 2022, he has been with the Office of National Science and Technology Research Programs, serving as Director-General. Currently he is also Adjunct Professor of SET, HUST.
