Dimitri Geidelberg is Policy Team Leader in the New Zealand Space Agency, part of the Ministry of Business Innovation and Employment (MBIE) where he leads the agency’s policy work programme, with a focus on regulatory policy for outer space and high-altitude activity. He was previously Team Leader for sector development, leading work on New Zealand’s early space programme initiatives, international research partnerships, and public outreach and education projects.
Mr Geidelberg joined MBIE in 2016 to work on international science and innovation agreements and partnerships, including with Australia, Israel and Singapore, as well as the Square Kilometre Array. He previously held several roles at Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade where he served at New Zealand’s diplomatic missions in Australia, Fiji and Papua New Guinea.
