Master’s degree in the Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics Engineering from the University of Tokyo in 1991 and joined the Space Development Division, NEC.

During a student, I engaged in the research and development of the ion engine for the deep space probe "Hayabusa".

First 10 years in NEC, I engaged in the development of spaceborne computer system for spacecraft’s autonomous operation, such as earth observing satellite – MIDORI, DAICHI or intersatellite communication system for space station.

For the next 15 years, I dedicated project management of a practical large-scale space data system and contributed to the realization of Japan's national space infrastructure such as imagery intelligence, positioning, navigation, timing, and communications. In 2016, I had been appointed General Manager of the Space Systems Division.

Currently, I’m promoting a new space “commercial” utilization by combining our space and IT network technology as the space ICT evangelist.

1991年東京大学工学系研究科航空学専攻卒業、同年日本電気株式会社宇宙開発事業部入社。学生時代は深宇宙探査機「はやぶさ」に搭載されたイオンエンジンの研究開発を手掛け、入社以降は地球観測衛星「みどり」「だいち」に搭載された運用管制コンピュータやそのソフトウェアの開発や宇宙ステーションと地上を結ぶ衛星間通信システムの開発に従事するなど宇宙×ICTを実現する宇宙データシステムの開発に約10年従事した。

その後15年、宇宙データシステムを顧客価値に変える実用大規模ICTシステムのプロジェクトマネジメントを担当し、2016年宇宙システム事業部長に就任。環境科学から、安全保障、実用測位など日本の国家基幹インフラの実現に貢献した。

現在はNECが社内に保有する宇宙技術とITネットワーク技術の掛け合わせによる新たな民間宇宙利用をプロモートすべく、スペースICTエバンジェリストとして活動中。
