Nicolas is the Deputy Director for Strategy, Policy & Partnerships at the Office for Space Technology & Industry (OSTIn), Singapore’s national space office. He leads OSTIn’s teams in developing, shaping and executing Singapore’s national space strategy, policies, legislation and international partnerships. Nicolas represents Singapore in bilateral and multilateral engagements on space matters - such as the United Nations Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space (COPUOS) and ASEAN Sub-Committee on Space Technology and Applications (SCOSA).
Nicolas has served in the government and diplomacy sectors for more than a decade. He started his career at the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB) in 2009, laying the groundwork to establish OSTIn in 2013. He held various other appointments at EDB, including spending 6 years in China and Australia, facilitating foreign investments into Singapore across industry sectors. During the Covid-19 pandemic, Nicolas played an instrumental role in the transformation of Singapore’s Marine & Offshore industry.
Between 2019 and 2022, Nicolas was Cofounder & CEO of F-drones, a company developing autonomous cargo delivery drones for more efficient and sustainable maritime logistics. He successfully helped the company raise close to $3 million from institutional investors. The company continues to develop proprietary fixed-wing electric vertical take-off and landing drones (eVTOLs), and Nicolas is an active member of the Singapore Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) Community Advisory Committee.
