Dr. Joon Lee is a principal researcher of Korea Aerospace Research Institute (KARI). He got an MA in law at Chonbuk National University in Korea in 1990 and worked as a lecturer at the same University from 1997 to 1999 teaching International Law (including aerospace law). He graduated the Postgraduate Diploma in Law (PGDL) Course in 2001 and Legal Practice Course (LPC) in 2002 at the College of Law of England and Wales in the United Kingdom.

He got a Ph.D degree in International Law at Chonnam National University in Korea in 2003 and worked as a research lecturer until he joined KARI in 2004 as a senior researcher. He has worked as the head of strategic planning team (2009∼2011), the head of international relations team (2011∼2014), the head of space policy team (2015∼2017), the director of policy & cooperation division (2018∼2019.3).

Currently he is working as the Executive Director of Strategy & Planning Directorate (2021∼).
