Luke Phillips is an Assistant Director within the International Partnerships Section of the Australian Space Agency. Luke contributes to the Australian Space Agency's engagement with other countries, leveraging bilateral and multilateral international partnerships to open doors and source opportunities to support the growth of the Australian space industry. Luke is responsible for identifying new areas of cooperation and managing the Australian Space Agency's strategic partnership with the United States.
Before joining the Australian Space Agency in 2023, Luke was supporting the Australian Government Department of Industry Science and Resources, to coordinate government and industry engagement with stakeholders in North and South Asia - advancing trade and economic interests with Japan, India, ROK and Taiwan. Before this work, Luke was with Australia's Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) in the United States from 2018 to 2021 where he was responsible for advising the Australian Consulate General in New York on the local domestic legislative and political developments relevant to Australia's interests.
Luke commenced in Australia's public service more than ten years ago and is an international and government relations specialist with a master's in international relations from the University of Melbourne and Bachelor of Social Science from Swinburne University, specialising in Australian foreign policy, international security, Indo-Pacific regional history, and counter terrorism.
