Mr Chharom Chin, Deputy Director, Geography Department, General Department of Cadastre and Geography, Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction.

Mr. Chin has more than 30 years experiences in GIS/Remote Sensing and space related activities. He graduated from Royal University of Agriculture (RUA), Phnom Penh, Cambodia in 1990. In 1994, Mr Chin had received award from International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) through AusAID to pursue is Doctor of Philosophy degree in at the University of Western Australia (UWA), Perth, Western Australia. Upon his return in 1997, he continued to work in various positions such as Training and MIS specialist for the Cambodia-IRRI Australia Project, GIS/Remote Sensing Advisor for United Nation Development Program (UNDP) and continues to work as GIS/Remote Sensing Advisor and deputy director to the Geography Department where he provides technical advisory, training and representing Cambodia in various national and international agencies such as Cambodian GIS Task Force, ASEAN Sub-Committee of Space Technology and Applications (SCOSA), Advisory Body of ASEAN Plan of Action on Science and Technology (ABAPAST), Space Education and Awareness Working Group of Asia Pacific Regional Space Agency Forum (APRSAF), Sentinel Asia Project, etc. Since 2003, he shares his part-time as GIS and Land Information System (LIS) Senior Lecture at the Royal University of Agriculture and supervised of more than 80 theses in GIS/RS/LIS relate subjects. Mr. Chin is the forefront in developing and implementing the Cambodia NSDI, modernized the Cadastral Information System, development and operating CORS network in Cambodia.
