Paolo Manunta serves as a Senior Digital Technology Specialist in the Climate Change and Sustainable Development Department at the Asian Development Bank. He specializes in Earth Observation (EO), online Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and Spatial Data Infrastructure (SDI). In this role, Paolo leads the establishment of geospatial initiatives and has facilitated the cloud-based integration of EO, GIS, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) across various ADB Developing Member Countries, including Timor-Leste, Cambodia, Kazakhstan, Indonesia, Georgia, Armenia, and Mongolia among others.

Paolo joined ADB as a secondee from ESA, with his Asia experience beginning in 2014 through a transport project in Papua New Guinea. He transitioned to a full-time secondment at ADB in 2017 and became a permanent staff member in 2022. Following the completion of his PhD from University of Aberta Canada, As data analyst he worked on climate change modeling and developed adaptation pathways for the Provincial Government of Alberta in Canada. He has fiftyeen years plus experience in the private sector in Europe.
