Dr. Gay Jane P. Perez is the Deputy Director General for Space Science and Technology at the Philippine Space Agency (PhilSA), where she oversees programs on space technology development, earth observation, interdisciplinary space science, and space policy and international cooperation.
She is also a Professor at the University of the Philippines Diliman and President of Technical Commission V of the International Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ISPRS).
Dr. Perez is a recipient of numerous awards, most notably the National Academy of Science and Technology (NAST) Outstanding Young Scientists (OYS) for 2021 and the first Filipino woman to receive the ASEAN-US Science Prize for Women (2018).
She was a postdoctoral fellow at the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center (2010-2011). She is a graduate of the National Institute of Physics at the University of the Philippines Diliman, from which she received a Bachelor of Science in Applied Physics (2003), Master of Science in Physics (2005), and Doctor of Philosophy in Physics (2009).
