1. Selecting Students to Participate in Water Rocket Competition at APRSAF-14 - India & Japan
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The students from the Asia-Pacific region will be joining the APRSAF water rocket competition, an APRSAF-14 side event, to be held in November 2007. In this event, the students compete to see how far they can make their water rockets fly.
The participating students will be selected through national competitions held in each country of the Asia-Pacific region.

Last year, 29 students from 13 countries participated in the APRSAF-13 water rocket competition and the students deepened their friendship with one another through sharing their knowledge and skills of making and launching water rockets.

2. Asia-Pacific Satellite Communications Council (APSCC) 2007 Satellite Conference and Exhibition - Thailand, September 18-20
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This event was held from September 18 to 20 in Bangkok, Thailand together with over 350 professionals from the satellite and space-related industries and marked its prestige as the most premier satellite event in the Asia-Pacific region.
Themed "Asia - Ready for Challenge", APSCC 2007 featured CEO Roundtable Discussions, as well as 9 panel discussions and conference sessions providing an in-depth look at the cutting-edge satellite technology, as well as particular issues and concerns rising in the region.
"APSCC annual conference and exhibition marked its prestige as the most premier satellite event in the Asia-Pacific region," said Mr. Inho SEO, Director of the Project Development & Coordination of the APSCC, after the event.

3. China successfully launched third Sino-Brazilian Earth Resources Satellite, - September 19
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
An Earth Resources Satellite, named 02B (CBERS-2B), was launched on a Chinese Long March 4B carrier rocket on September 19 from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center in northern part of China.
This is the third Earth Resources Satellite jointly developed by the China Academy of Space Technology (CAST) and the Brazilian National Space Research Institute (INPE).

4. Lunar explorer KAGUYA: Results of the Separation of the baby satellites, and takes images of the Earth - Japan
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"KAGUYA" is a lunar explorer that was launched on September 14, 2007 from Japan, and which has satisfactorily flown toward the Moon. The Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) performed the separation operation of the onboard baby satellites, the Relay Satellite (Rstar) and the VRAD* satellite (Vstar) of the KAGUYA, respectively on October 9th and 12th, and both the Rstar and the Vstar are confirmed to be in good health.
Moon images taken by KAGUTA onboard camera as well as a comment from the KAGUYA Project Manger, Etsusada TAKIZAWA,, are posted on the following websites:

5. [[Snow Leopard Update 3]] Discovering the causes of the previous difficulties

The non-profit organization, Snow Leopard Trust, is studying the home-range size, movement and behavior patterns of wild snow leopards using Global Positioning System (GPS) collars.
