1. News on APRSAF: New APRSAF Leaflets available online

The APRSAF Leaflet has been revised and is now available online:
http://www.aprsaf.org/about/leaflet.php
In this version, whole pages have been revised and information on working groups and initiatives, in particular, has been modified; in addition, two newly established initiatives, Climate R3 and Kibo-ABC, have been added.
In keeping with the new Leaflet, the section of our website about WGs and Initiatives has also been updated.

2. News from APRSAF Community: Try Zero G, Pakistan

Try Zero G is the in-orbit educational campaign program on the ISS. Selected proposals for experiments submitted by students from APRSAF community countries are carried out by astronauts in orbit.
In 2012, 10 ideas were selected from 127 applications across 4 countries. Four of the experiments, selected from Pakistan, are introduced on the website of the National Space Agency of Pakistan (SUPARCO).

3. India’s PSLV launches Indo-French satellite SARAL

On February 25, 2013, the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) successfully launched the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) C20, bearing an Indo-French ocean observation satellite “SARAL” and six other satellites. All satellites have been put into the orbits planned out for them.

4. Philippine Space Act submitted to House of Rep.

On December 24, 2012, the House of Representative Congress of the Philippines announced that Agham Party-list representative Angelo Palmones had submitted the HB 6725 Philippine Space Act of 2012, aimed at promoting the peaceful use and exploitation of space and advancing the knowledge of space through research. The bill includes the establishment of the Philippine Space Agency (PSA), which has an advisory board, and the Philippine Space Commission (PSC). It also includes plans to draw up a road map towards the promotion of space science.

5. KAZCOSMOS reports activities in 2012 and plans for 2013

On February 13, 2013, the National Space Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan (KAZCOSMOS) held an executive board meeting, with Deputy Prime Minister Kairat Kelimbetov in attending, and reported its overall activities in 2012 as well as its activity plan for 2013.
The major plans for 2013 are as follows:
- Design and manufacture of a geostationary communication satellite, Kazsat-3, to be launched in 2014
- Test-operation of a back-up ground station for Kazsat satellites
- Manufacture and testing of a high-resolution earth observation satellite, DZZ-HR (resolution: 1m), and launch of a small medium-resolution earth observation satellite, MRES (resolution: 7m)
- Installment of 50 ground stations for a high-accuracy satellite navigation system
