* 1. APRSAF-24 Updates

- Call for Proposals of Side Event will close on June 30, 2017
The APRSAF Secretariat is accepting proposals for their Side Event, to be held during the APRSAF-24 annual session in November in Bengaluru, India.
An "APRSAF Side Event" is a meeting, conference, or other similar event related to the APRSAF's goals and objectives, proposed and performed by APRSAF participating organizations during the APRSAF annual session. For details, please refer to the following:

- <Correction> Entry to the APRSAF-24 Poster Contest & Water Rocket Event will be accepted starting from August
The Space Education Working Group (SEWG) will organize the APRSAF-24 Poster Contest and the Water Rocket Event for children, and will accept entries from August.
The Poster Contest is open for participation by children ages 8-11 years (as of December 31, 2017) living in the Asia-Pacific region. The theme this year is "United Through Space," and details may be found at the following:

The APRSAF-24 Water Rocket Event will be held at the Kendriya Vidyalaya, NAL Campus, (Bengaluru, India) on Sunday, November 10-13, 2017. This event is hosted for school students aged 12-16 years from countries in the Asia-Pacific region. For details, please refer to the following:

- First Announcement of 9th MGA Conference Released
The first announcement of the 9th Multi-GNSS Asia (MGA) Conference has been released. The conference will be held from October 9-11, 2017 in Jakarta, and will primary focus on the following scope: "Industry-Academia-Governmental Cooperation," "Discussion on Potential Solutions for Indonesia," "B to B Matching," and "Open Forum for Multi-GNSS."

- Five CubeSats of BIRDS Project Delivered to ISS
On June 5, 2017 (UTC), five 1U CubeSats of the Joint Global Multi-Nation Birds Satellite Project (BIRDS Project) were delivered to the International Space Station (ISS) Japan Experiment Module "Kibo" by the SpaceX Dragon cargo vehicles. The BIRDS Project, led by Japan's Kyushu Institute of Technology (Kyutech), is a cross-border interdisciplinary satellite project with Bangladesh, Ghana, Mongolia, Nigeria and Thailand. These five CubeSats, including the first satellites assembled and integrated by students in Bangladesh and Mongolia, will be deployed from the ISS "Kibo" on July 7, 2017.

- India's ISRO Successfully Launches 31 Satellites on PSLV-C38
India's Cartosat-2 series earth observation satellite, Cartosat-2E, was successfully launched by Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle PSLV-C38 on June 23, 2017 (UTC). In addition, 30 co-passenger nano satellites were launched into a 505 km polar Sun Synchronous Orbit (SSO).

- Electron Launch Vehicle Conducted First Test Flight from New Zealand
Rocket Lab, an American-New Zealand aerospace company, conducted the first test flight of a new launch vehicle, named Electron, from Launch Complex 1 on the Mahia Peninsula in New Zealand. This launch was the first of three test flights scheduled for this year.
