2021 Award Winner!
Professor, Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics
Graduate School of Engineering, The University of Tokyo
Established in 1993, the Asia-Pacific Regional Agency Forum (APRSAF) has evolved into one of the largest space-related conferences in the Asia-Pacific region, attracting many individuals not only from the Asia-Pacific region but from all over the world.
At the APRSAF Executive Committee (ExCom) of the 26th annual session (APRSAF-26), held in Nagoya, Japan, in November 2019, the idea of establishing the APRSAF Awards was proposed to promote space-related activities across the Asia-Pacific region as well as globally by recognizing and rewarding outstanding contributions.
At APRSAF Online 2020, the ExCom officially proposed to the APRSAF community the establishment of the APRSAF Awards. After receiving and reviewing public comments, the ExCom approved the establishment of the APRSAF Awards the following year.
APRSAF Awards are intended to recognize outstanding contributions made by eminent individuals and to reward them for their outstanding achievements.
APRSAF Awards are intended to encourage the award recipients to continue to make contributions to progress in the space field not only regionally but also globally.
APRSAF Awards are intended to motivate Asia-Pacific as well as the global space community to further advance space activities to a new space era.
APRSAF Awards are intended to inspire the next generations to build careers in the space field by presenting the award recipients as role models.
APRSAF Awards are intended to enhance the dignity of the forum itself.
