Asian Try Zero-G 2018: Eight Experiment Themes Performed at KIBO
On February 13, 2018, experiments for "Asian Try Zero-G 2018" were conducted by Japanese astronaut Norishige Kanai aboard the Japanese Experiment Module (JEM), "Kibo", of the International Space Station (ISS). "Asian Try Zero-G" program is a part of the Asian Beneficial Collaboration through Kibo Utilization (KIBO-ABC) initiative to promote manned space experiment activities aboard Kibo, and this year's demonstration was the sixth since 2011. Eight experiments selected from over 160 ideas submitted by students and young scientist/engineers of KIBO-ABC member countries were conducted.

1) ISEF2 Commencing Shortly in Tokyo
The 2nd International Space Exploration Forum (ISEF2) will be held on March 3, 2018, in Tokyo. ISEF is a meeting for dialogue among ministers and other high-level government representatives to promote international collaboration in space exploration. Following the ISEF inaugural meeting that was held in 2014 in Washington D.C., U.S.A., the 2nd ISEF will be sponsored by Japan's Ministry for Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology (MEXT). The side events for industry (I-ISEF) and young professionals (Y-ISEF) will also be held with the objective of advancing international space exploration.

2) Epsilon-3 Launches Small Radar Satellite ASNARO-2 into Orbit
On January 18, 2018 (Japan Standard Time), JAXA launched the Epsilon-3 launch vehicle, which encapsulates an advanced small radar satellite "ASNARO-2," an acronym for "Advanced Satellite with New System Architecture for Observation," from the Uchinoura Space Center. ASNARO-2 was developed by the NEC Corporation as part of a project funded by the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI). The ASNARO project is an effort for developing earth observation satellites that are compact, low price, and excel in fast delivery and high performance.

3) ISECG Publishes Update on the Global Exploration Roadmap
The International Space Exploration Coordination Group (ISECG) published the third edition of the Global Exploration Roadmap in January 2018. ISECG is a voluntary, non-binding coordination forum of 15 space agencies to advance Global Exploration Strategy through a coordination of mutual efforts in space exploration. The latest edition was developed by 14 agencies, including CSIRO (Australia), CNSA (China), ISRO (India), JAXA (Japan), and KARI (Republic of Korea), and it reflects consensus about the importance of the Moon on the pathway to Mars as a common driving goal.

4) Seminar for Teachers on Water Rocket Technology: Indonesia LAPAN
The Indonesian National Institute of Aeronautics and Space (LAPAN) conducted an educational seminar for teachers on February 3, 2018. To enhance teachers' knowledge of the technology involved in water rockets, a series of training and field studies on water rocket technology was conducted. According to LAPAN's report, one of its main competencies is building rockets, and during the training, participants learned how to build a water rocket and launched it as well.
