Climate change and its large-scale disasters are affecting the Asia Pacific Region environment, agriculture, forests and the impacts are accentuated by human activities. Space Technology is able to contribute to MRV (measurement, reporting and validation) on the changes that occurred since the last decades, The observations can be used to improve our understanding of the effects of climate change, in order to define measures of adaptation and mitigation including reduction of GHG emissions. Space agency and authorities in each country need to enhance human resources, targeted on the young generation expected to play a leading role in each country in the future. This is also aiming to promote APRSAF Nagoya Vision which are solutions for social issues as well as diverse linkage. Session Objective In this session, to realize the APRSAF Nagoya Vision, we will confirm the need to continue activities that provide new value to society through open space innovation, which will realize sustainable space activities that contribute to solving a broad range of social issues on the ground and sustainable socio-economic development. 2. Session Concept We will proceed with the discussion of this session through the following elements; a) Share and deepen understanding of each country's space policy (e.g., promotion of new entry of space startups, deregulation of space activities, etc.). b) Make an opportunity to share a practice of private sector's activities from space industry side and make proposals and requests to government and space agency side (space policy / space technology) through inputting the results of the Space Industry Workshop (SIWS) into this session.
